Job purpose

The position of the HVAC Service Technician, within our new company Real Airflow, serves to make service calls to homes or commercial businesses to provide them with expert troubleshooting, repair solutions, and new installations to a variety of equipment, particularly heating systems. As you will be the main point of contact between Real AirFlow and its customers, the HVAC Service Technician will maintain a professional and friendly image and serve as an advocate for the company and our brand.

Qualifications

• HVAC,3 years preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• HVAC certification, required
• Prior experience servicing residential and commercial Air Conditioning and Heating equipment
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Must be able to pass drug and background test(s) as required by company
• Willingness to expand your technical and repair knowledge; obtain new licenses and commitment to professional growth
• Exceptional technical skills as well as strong communication skills
• Must be able to work independently while safely maintaining a high level of performance

Roles and Responsibilities

Residential:

• Assessing customers' equipment and service needs
• Troubleshooting and repairing residential AC equipment, heating, and other equipment
• Identifying revenue-generating opportunities, making recommendations to customers, and closing any sales that can be immediately performed
• Performing efficiency tests on all combustion-related installations
• Preparing accurate daily paperwork
• Obtain the customer’s signature at the completion of the job
• Obtain correct customer information including email address
• Document all equipment upon arrival: make model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary
• Communicating with Dispatcher and Service departments
• Utilizing all applicable safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Maintaining an organized van and properly accounting for assigned tools and parts inventory

Commercial Businesses:

• Install, alter and repair sheet metal products and equipment ducts and hoods for HVAC systems utilizing blueprints, drawings and work orders
• Maintain and repair or replace components on various air conditioner units' chillers, rooftop units, wet and dry side systems
• Will be working along other HVAC Installers

General:

• Represent Real AirFlow while always providing the highest quality of service to the customer
• Attend all department and manager meetings as needed
• Develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand customer opportunities
• Participate in company-provided training opportunities (occasional travel) on the latest industry technologies
• Identify and report to the owner potential opportunities for additional business (newer system, service contracts, and additional services)
• Observe all company procedures and safety rules

Physical Requirements

• Job may require moderate lifting (up to 50lbs) and bending, and standing for long periods of time
• Be able to push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders; work from heights, work in small crawl spaces
• Well-groomed and neat appearance
• Schedule Monday to Friday with the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays for emergency service calls. Should expect 50+ hours a week during peak heating and cooling seasons
• Work location is on the road
